Calgary Foundation · Regional
Calgary Black Chambers Business Scholarship
About this award
Win up to $7,000 for your tuition if you are a Black Canadian student in your second year or beyond of a full-time business program — apply by June 1, 2026.
Depending on which award you win, you will receive a one-time payment of either $5,000 or $7,000. Specifically, the ATB Community Leadership Scholarship and the KPMG Academic Excellence Scholarship are both one award of $5,000 each, while the Academic Excellence at MRU (Mount Royal University) Scholarship and the TD Business Leadership Scholarship are both one award of $7,000 each. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a Black Canadian leader or high-achiever pursuing a career in business and want to support the growth of Black culture in Calgary. You must apply by June 1, 2026. When you apply, ask Calgary Foundation how and when you'll hear back — whether it is by email, a portal, or phone. Selection criteria aren't published — ask Calgary Foundation how winners are chosen and roughly how many applicants they typically receive so you can judge your odds. The money is applied directly to your tuition. Confirm with Calgary Foundation during your application if the funds go straight to your school's financial office or if there are other steps you need to take. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with Calgary Foundation whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.
