About this award
Get a $5,000 bursary for your post-secondary studies or apprenticeship if you are a member of one of seven specific First Nations communities — apply by August 1, November 1, or February 1.
You can receive a $5,000 bursary each year. There is a total of $35,000 in bursaries available each year to support students. This is for you if you are a member of one of the seven listed First Nations communities and want to pursue higher education to become a future leader. You have three deadlines to choose from: August 1, November 1, and February 1. When you apply, ask Indspire (the organization managing the fund) how and when you will hear back about your application. Selection criteria aren't published — ask Frontier Lithium how winners are chosen and roughly how many applicants they typically receive so you can judge your odds. Ask Frontier Lithium during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. As a bursary, this money is yours to keep and you do not have to pay it back. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with Frontier Lithium whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.

More details
The biggest mistake is writing a generic application.
Winners instead highlight their specific ties to their First Nation and explain how their education will help them lead and give back to their community.
Many students forget to include letters from community elders or leaders.
Winners provide strong references that prove their character and their commitment to their home community.
Since there are three separate deadlines (August 1, November 1, and February 1), don't wait until the last one.
Apply during the earliest window possible to increase your chances of securing the funds before the annual pool is gone.
