ATB Community Leadership Scholarship
About this award
Get $5,000 applied directly to your tuition if you have a strong track record of leading in your community.
You can receive one award of $5,000. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you have spent your time taking charge and organizing projects to help others in your community. No deadline is posted publicly — before you start the application, check Calgary Foundation's program page or call their office to confirm when applications open and close this year. Selection criteria aren't published — ask Calgary Foundation how winners are chosen and roughly how many applicants they typically receive so you can judge your odds. The money is applied directly to tuition. Confirm with your school's financial aid office how this credit appears on your account. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with Calgary Foundation whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.

The biggest mistake is listing a dozen clubs you simply joined.
Winners instead highlight one or two projects where they actually led people to achieve a goal.

The biggest mistake is using a teacher who only knows you from class.
Winners instead use a community leader or supervisor who saw them lead a project.
