What you will need

• ✓ Proof of Black Canadian citizenship or permanent residency
• ✓ Confirmation of full-time enrollment in the second year or beyond of a first undergraduate degree or diploma
• ✓ Proof of attendance at a Calgary post-secondary institution OR proof of graduation from a high school in Airdrie, Diamond Valley, Calgary, Chestermere, Cochrane, High River, Okotoks, Springbank, or Strathmore
• ✓ Academic transcripts showing a cumulative GPA of 2.7 or 70% or higher
• ✓ Documentation demonstrating financial need

About this award

You can receive one of eight awards valued at $2,500 each. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. The money is applied directly to your tuition. This is for you if you are a Black Canadian student who has balanced your academic studies with active involvement in your school or local community. The June 1, 2026 deadline has passed. Who qualifies

To qualify, you must be a Black Canadian citizen or permanent resident. You must be enrolled in full-time study and entering the second year or beyond of your first undergraduate degree or diploma program. Geographically, you must either be attending a Calgary post-secondary institution or have graduated from a high school in Airdrie, Diamond Valley, Calgary, Chestermere, Cochrane, High River, Okotoks, Springbank, or Strathmore while attending any Canadian post-secondary institution. Academically, you need a cumulative GPA (Grade Point Average — the average of all your final grades) greater than or equal to 2.7 or 70%. Finally, you must demonstrate financial need and show that you have been involved in your school and/or community.
