About this award

No fixed dollar amount is posted — contact Capital Power to confirm the value for your specific award before you apply. As a bursary, this money is yours to keep and you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you identify as Indigenous and want to bring your unique expertise and talent into the clean energy industry. Deadlines come around three times a year on August 1, November 1 and February 1, so aim for whichever one is next. When you apply, ask how and when you'll hear back — whether it is by email, phone, or through the application portal. Selection criteria aren't published — ask Capital Power how winners are chosen and roughly how many applicants they typically receive so you can judge your odds. Tips for applying

IdentityAvoid writing a generic application. Instead, explain exactly how your Indigenous values and worldviews align with the goal of building a clean energy future. Describe your specific connection to your community.
StrategyAvoid waiting until the final deadline. Since there are three windows (August, November, and February), try to apply in the earliest one that fits your schedule to get your funding sorted sooner.
RealismAvoid assuming this is the only source of funding. Because this is managed through Indspire (an organization that provides educational funding for Indigenous students), look for other Indspire-managed awards you can stack with this one.
