About this award

You can receive a $3,500 award. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are an Indigenous student finishing a bridging program and preparing to step into a full degree or diploma. You must apply by January 3, 2027. When you apply, ask Mount Royal University how and when you will hear back — whether it is by email, phone, or through an online portal. Selection is based on your academic achievement and leadership qualities, such as acting as a role model or mentor through community work. Selection criteria aren't published in detail — ask Mount Royal University how winners are chosen and roughly how many applicants they typically receive so you can judge your odds. Ask Mount Royal University during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you are counting on this for multiple years, confirm with Mount Royal University whether it is a one-time award or renewable and what you need to maintain.

Who qualifies

You must be an Indigenous student who is graduating from the Indigenous University Bridging Program (IUBP — a program designed to help students transition into university-level study). To qualify, you must plan to continue your post-secondary studies full-time at Mount Royal University in any credit certificate, diploma, or degree program.
