About this award

You can receive a $1,000 award. As a scholarship, this money is yours to keep and you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are an Indigenous student dedicated to the preservation and revitalization of Indigenous languages through your professional training. You must apply by October 31, 2026. When you apply, ask First Nations University of Canada how and when you will hear back — whether by email, phone, or through the portal. Selection criteria aren't published — ask First Nations University of Canada how winners are chosen and roughly how many applicants they typically receive so you can judge your odds. Ask First Nations University of Canada during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — since this is a biannual scholarship (meaning it occurs every two years), confirm with First Nations University of Canada whether you can apply again in the future and what you need to maintain.
