Kirby Morrow Memorial Scholarship
About this award
Get $1,000 for your first or second year of a performing arts degree or diploma in Alberta or BC — apply by June 30, 2026.
You can win one of two awards valued at $1,000 each. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a performer or storyteller who wants to follow in the footsteps of Kirby Morrow, a voice actor who loved helping young artists get a quality education. You must apply by June 30, 2026. When you apply, ask Calgary Foundation how and when you will hear back — whether it is by email, phone, or through their portal. Selection criteria aren't published — ask Calgary Foundation how winners are chosen and roughly how many applicants they typically receive so you can judge your odds. The money is applied directly to your tuition. Confirm with Calgary Foundation if this happens automatically or if you need to provide specific billing details. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you are counting on this for multiple years, confirm with Calgary Foundation whether it is a one-time award or renewable and what you need to maintain.
Can you get it?
- Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident — citizenship requirement
- Resident of AB, BC — provincial eligibility

The biggest mistake is just reciting your resume on camera.
Winners instead show their actual talent and emotion while explaining exactly why they need the money to reach their goals.
Record a high-energy clip that proves your passion for the performing arts.
The biggest mistake is submitting a video without getting feedback.
Winners instead have a teacher or mentor watch their clip to ensure the pacing is tight and the audio is clear.
