What you will need

About this award

You get $5,000 per year for 4 years, totaling $20,000. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a first-generation post-secondary student identifying as Black, Indigenous, or a person of colour (BIPOC) who is starting their first undergraduate degree in business. This award is given every 2 years. The last round was open from September 2 to September 30, 2025, and the winner was announced in 2025. Selection criteria aren't published — ask Jamaal Magloire Foundation (funded by the Randhawa family) how winners are chosen and roughly how many applicants they typically receive so you can judge your odds, as only one (1) award is given every 2 years. The money goes toward your tuition: $5,000 each year for the 4-year term. To keep this funding for years two through four, you must maintain a cumulative GPA of C+ or higher. Who qualifies

You must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident who identifies as Black, Indigenous, or a person of colour (BIPOC). You must be a first-generation post-secondary attendee, meaning neither of your parents or legal guardians completed any form of post-secondary degree. This must be your first undergraduate degree. You must be accepted into a recognized 4-year Bachelor of Commerce (B.Comm) or Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program at an accredited Ontario university. Finally, you must show financial need by qualifying for OSAP (the Ontario Student Assistance Program — the provincial government's student financial aid) or by providing other official documentation.
