About this award

No fixed dollar amount is posted — contact Indigenous Institutes Consortium to confirm the value for your specific award before you apply. As a scholarship, this money is yours to keep and you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a female First Nations student from Ontario who is pursuing your education at a member institute. You have three potential deadlines to meet: August 1, November 1, or February 1. When you apply, ask how and when you'll hear back — whether it is by email, a portal, or phone. Selection criteria aren't published — ask Indigenous Institutes Consortium how winners are chosen and roughly how many applicants they typically receive so you can judge your odds. Ask Indigenous Institutes Consortium during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with Indigenous Institutes Consortium whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.

Tips for applying

IdentityAvoid providing a generic bio. Instead, highlight your connection to your First Nations community in Ontario and explain how your specific program of study helps you lead the next generation.
SupportDon't forget to coordinate with their registrar. Ensure your enrollment at a member institute is verified and documented before the deadline to avoid processing delays.
StrategySince there are three deadlines (August 1, November 1, and February 1), do not wait until the final one. Applying in the earliest window often puts you ahead of the curve.
RealismBecause the dollar amount isn't public, treat this as a helpful supplement rather than your primary funding source until you confirm the value with the funder.
