You can receive a $10,000 scholarship. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. There are up to 15 scholarships available in total, and at least two of these are dedicated specifically to women of Indigenous ancestry. This is for you if you identify as a woman of Indigenous ancestry who is excelling in Computer/Data Science, Physics, Engineering, or Mathematics. Applications will reopen in February 2027. No specific closing date or time zone is posted publicly — before you start your application, check the BC Scholarship Society's program page or call their office to confirm when the window closes this year. Selection criteria aren't published — ask BC Scholarship Society how winners are chosen and roughly how many applicants they typically receive so you can judge your odds. To qualify, you must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, Convention refugee, or Protected Person living in Canada. You must be First Nations (Status or Non-Status), Inuit, or Métis, and self-identify as a woman. You must be enrolled in full-time studies at a public post-secondary institution in British Columbia. You must be completing an undergraduate degree, diploma, or certificate in computer/data science, physics, engineering, and/or mathematics. To be eligible, you must have completed a minimum one year of post-secondary studies, have at least one year remaining in your program, and have achieved a minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA). You cannot apply if you have previously received a Women in Technology Scholarship.
