About this award

You can receive a $650 grant for this award. As a grant, this money is yours to keep and you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a Police Science (Cadet) student who can show a strong work ethic and a genuine need for financial help. You must apply by November 1, 2026. When you apply, ask Holland College how and when you will hear back — whether it is by email, phone, or through the portal. Holland College lists this award's criteria on its official page (see Who qualifies). Ask Holland College how winners are picked among the students who meet them and how many usually apply, so you can judge your odds. Ask Holland College during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with Holland College whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.

Who qualifies

You must be enrolled in the Police Science (Cadet) program. To qualify, you need to demonstrate financial need and a solid work ethic. Having volunteer experience is considered an asset for your application.

This is what the award's official page said when we last checked. Rules change, so confirm on the award's official page before you apply.

Tips for applying

Volunteer WorkAvoid just listing the organizations where you volunteered. Instead, describe one specific time your work helped someone or solved a problem. Mention the total hours you contributed to show your commitment.
StrategyAvoid leaving your General Application incomplete. Since you are automatically considered for this award based on that form, double-check that every section is finished before you submit.
RealismAvoid assuming this award is guaranteed because you meet the basic criteria. Instead, treat it as a supplement to your financial plan while you look for other grants at Holland College.
