About this award

You can receive $375.00. As a scholarship, this money is yours to keep and you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you have a strong heart for helping others and have spent your time volunteering in your community. You must apply by November 1, 2026. When you apply, ask Nipissing University how and when you will hear back — whether it is by email, phone, or through the awards portal. Ask Nipissing University how many students usually apply, so you can judge your odds. Ask Nipissing University during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with Nipissing University whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.

To qualify, you must be a resident of Ontario and be enrolled in Geography or an Environmental program. You must also demonstrate financial need and show a commitment to volunteerism and community service.

Tips for applying

• VolunteerismAvoid just listing the organizations where you volunteered. Instead, describe the specific impact your work had on children or your community. Write about one specific project where your dedication made a difference.
• StrategyAvoid leaving your General Application incomplete. Since you are automatically considered based on that form, double-check that every section regarding your community involvement is fully detailed.
• RealismAvoid assuming this award will cover all your costs. Because the value is $375.00, use this as a supplement alongside other bursaries to manage your overall financial need.
