About this award

You can receive $825.00. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a Geography major who has a strong academic record and needs extra financial help to finish your degree. You must apply by November 1, 2026. When you apply, ask how and when you'll hear back — whether it is by email, the portal, or phone. The Geography Department chooses the winner based on who they deem most deserving. Ask Nipissing University how many students usually apply, so you can judge your odds. Ask Nipissing University during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with Nipissing University whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.

Who qualifies

To qualify, you must be a full-time student in your second, third, or fourth year of a Geography major with a minimum 70% average. You must also demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Ontario as defined by OSAP (the Ontario Student Assistance Program — the provincial office that manages student loans and grants).
