About this award

You can receive $825.00. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are an active member of your campus or local community through volunteering, sports, or student leadership. You must apply by November 1, 2026. When you apply, ask Nipissing University how and when you'll hear back — whether it is by email, phone, or through the portal. Ask Nipissing University how many students usually apply, so you can judge your odds. Ask Nipissing University during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with Nipissing University whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.

Who qualifies

You must be a student in your second, third, or fourth year of study at Nipissing University. You can be enrolled in either full-time or part-time studies, provided you maintain a minimum 70% average. You must also demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Ontario as defined by OSAP (the Ontario Student Assistance Program — the provincial office that manages student loans and grants). To qualify, you must have contributed to at least one of these areas: on-campus clubs, volunteer community services, student government, athletic teams, or other extra-curricular activities.

How to apply

  2. Submit your application

Save a copy, and submit at least a day before the deadline shown above.

Tips for applying

  • Community LeadershipAvoid just listing the names of the clubs you joined. Instead, describe the specific impact your contribution had on the campus or community. Mention one project where your effort made a visible difference.
  • StrategyAvoid leaving your General Application incomplete. Since you are automatically considered based on that form, double-check that every section regarding your extracurriculars and financial need is fully detailed.
  • RealismAvoid assuming that a high GPA is the only factor. Because this award prioritizes student life and financial need, focus your energy on proving your involvement in campus activities alongside your grades.
