About this award

You can receive a $2,500.00 award. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a full-time student at Nipissing University in your second year or higher who is pursuing a degree in business or computer science and can show financial need. You must apply by November 1, 2026. When you apply, ask Nipissing University how and when you'll hear back — whether it is by email, the portal, or phone. Ask Nipissing University how many students usually apply, so you can judge your odds. Note that two students will receive this award. Ask Nipissing University during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with Nipissing University whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.

Who qualifies

To qualify, you must be one of two full-time Nipissing University students in your second year of study or higher. You must be enrolled in one of these programs: Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Arts – Computer Science, Bachelor of Science – Computer Science, or Bachelor of Science Data Science. You must have an average of 70% or higher, demonstrate financial need, and be legally eligible to work in Canada after you graduate. A preference for the awards will be given to students from an equity deserving group. Also, you will get priority consideration for student placements, such as co-ops or internships, at OPG (Ontario Power Generation — the provincial electricity company). Since you are automatically considered based on your completed General Application, ensure your profile is fully updated in the portal.
