About this award
You can receive $12,000 awarded annually, which is paid over a three or four year period based on your choice. As a scholarship, this money is yours to keep and you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a Dehcho Dene descendant pursuing advanced studies in specific fields. You must apply by June 30th annually. When you apply, ask Dehcho First Nations how and when you will hear back — whether by email, phone, or a portal. Selection criteria aren't published — ask Dehcho First Nations how winners are chosen and roughly how many applicants they typically receive so you can judge your odds. Ask Dehcho First Nations during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with Dehcho First Nations whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.
