What you will need

For undergraduate scholarships: enrolment in a bachelor's degree program recognized by the Order (or the course equivalence process), at least 30 credits completed and a grade point average of 2.8/4.3 or higher
For undergraduate scholarships: documentation of your volunteer work in social and extracurricular activities
For "Outstanding commitment" scholarships: a description of your charitable or volunteer project, or an action plan for a project starting up
For admission scholarships: proof that you have been accepted into a recognized bachelor of accounting program starting in the fall
For Assistance towards success scholarships: enrolment in a recognized bachelor's degree or the PEP (Professional Education Program), or the course equivalence process
For Excellence awards: ranking on the Canadian Honour Roll at the Common Final Examination

About this award

The Quebec CPA Order Foundation is offering $500,000 in scholarships, awards, and grants this year to support more than 200 students from across Quebec. These funds are distributed through nine scholarship programs. For example, the undergraduate scholarships and the admission scholarships are each 30 scholarships of $2,000, the "Outstanding commitment" scholarships are 4 scholarships of $2,500, and the Assistance towards success scholarships are $3,000 and more. As these are scholarships and grants, the money is yours to keep and you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a future accountant in Quebec, whether you are just starting your degree, are currently in your studies, or are pursuing a doctorate in the accounting field. Each program has its own deadline. The 2026 deadlines for the undergraduate, admission, "Outstanding commitment" and Assistance towards success scholarships have passed. The next competitions posted are: "Outstanding commitment" in February 2027 (opens December 2026), Assistance towards success in April 2027 (opens February 2027), and admission scholarships in May 2027 (opens April 2027). Results are sent to applicants by email. Each program publishes its own criteria — for example, undergraduate scholarships are judged 50% on your academic record and 50% on your social, extracurricular and volunteer involvement, and admission scholarships on financial need and/or academic persistence and your potential for CPA studies. Payment is made after the Foundation's Board of directors approves the awards, and the scholarship is taxable. You can win the undergraduate and "Outstanding commitment" scholarships only once, but you may apply to every Assistance towards success competition as long as you meet the requirements.

Who qualifies

To qualify for these awards, you must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident working toward becoming a chartered professional accountant in Quebec. Depending on the specific program, you must meet one of these sets of criteria: For Committed Future CPAs: You must be registered in a university bachelor's degree program recognized by the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec (the professional body for accountants in Quebec), have completed at least 30 university credits in that program, maintain a grade point average of 2.8/4.3 or higher, and be an active volunteer in social or extracurricular activities. For CPA Candidates: You must be registered with the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec and show outstanding social or community involvement, or lead a community or humanitarian project. For New Students (Financial Aid): You must be in your last year of a CEGEP program leading to a recognized bachelor's degree, or going back to school, have been accepted into a recognized bachelor of accounting program starting in the fall, and need financial aid for your first term or show exceptional persistence in your studies. For Continuing Students (Financial Aid): You must need financial aid to continue your studies toward the CPA (chartered professional accountant) designation. You must be registered (or registering) for the PEP (Professional Education Program — the mandatory training for accountants), a recognized bachelor's degree, or have started the course equivalence process. For Excellence Awards: You must be a candidate registered with the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec and be ranked on the Canadian Honour Roll at the Common Final Examination (the national standardized test for accountants). For Future Professors: You must be a member in good standing of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec and be pursuing doctoral studies in the CPA profession's area of expertise.
