You can win one of two scholarships valued at $1,500 each. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are an Indigenous person or a member of a Visible Minority group who is passionate about building a career in the electrical industry or a related field. You must apply by June 11, 2027. When you apply, ask Rexel Canada Electrical (through the EFC (the Electro-Federation Canada — the national association for the electrical distribution industry) scholarship program) how and when you will hear back about your application. Selection criteria aren't published — ask Rexel Canada Electrical (through the EFC scholarship program) how winners are chosen and roughly how many applicants they typically receive so you can judge your odds. Ask Rexel Canada Electrical (through the EFC scholarship program) during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with Rexel Canada Electrical (through the EFC scholarship program) whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.
To qualify, you must be a citizen of Canada or a legal permanent resident. You must be a current post-secondary undergraduate student enrolled full-time in an appropriate field of study at an accredited college or university. Eligible programs include Electrical Engineering, Electrical Apprenticeships, Electrical or Electronic Technologist or Technician programs, or any other discipline related to the electrical industry. You must have above-average grades in your current program and be able to show leadership and involvement in your community. This award specifically targets Indigenous Peoples or Visible Minority students.
