About this award

You can receive a scholarship ranging from $1,000–$3,000, which is a grant that you do not have to pay back. The money is awarded in two equal instalments posted to your Sheridan student account early in the first and second semesters. For those with a confirmed disability status with Sheridan’s Accessible Learning department, the award is pro-rated if you take a reduced course load of at least 40%. This is for you if you are a high-achieving student entering a specific degree program at Sheridan College for the first time. No specific application deadline is posted publicly because you are automatically considered for these awards. You will be notified of the scholarship along with your offer of admission. Before you start your planning, check your Sheridan Applicant Portal for your specific offer details. Winners are chosen automatically based on your previous academic achievement and your program-specific admissions GPA. Selection depends on your six highest Grade 12 U/M (University or Mixed) level and/or postsecondary credits. If you are a recipient, your offer of admission will say so. The money is applied directly to your Sheridan student account in two instalments. To get the second payment, you must remain enrolled full-time in your second semester. Confirm with Sheridan College if there are any other ways the funds are handled. To keep the scholarship, you must maintain the GPA specified in your offer of admission letter. You must also ensure your final GPA is equal to or greater than the required threshold. If you have a conditional offer, you must meet all admissions conditions or the scholarship may be revoked.

Who qualifies

To qualify, you must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and be enrolled as a full-time student in the program and semester indicated in your offer. If you have a confirmed disability status with Sheridan’s Accessible Learning department, you are considered full-time if you are enrolled in at least 40% of the required credits. You must also have an offer of admission to an eligible Sheridan degree program that says you are a recipient, and meet that program's minimum admission GPA.
