About this award

You get $250. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a woman returning to school as a mature student or transferring from college into a degree program. You must apply by November 1, 2026. When you apply, ask how and when you'll hear back — email, portal, or phone. The Awards Committee chooses the winner based on your application. Ask Nipissing University how many students usually apply, so you can judge your odds. Ask Nipissing University during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with Nipissing University whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.

Who qualifies

To qualify, you must be a female student in your third or fourth year of a four-year program. A preference is given to those studying in the Humanities. You must have a minimum 70% average in your major and have been admitted to the university as a Mature Student or as a college transfer. You must also demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Ontario as defined by OSAP (the Ontario Student Assistance Program — the provincial office that manages student loans and grants).

This is what the award's official page said when we last checked. Rules change, so confirm on the award's official page before you apply.
