About this award

The Calgary Construction Association (CCA) runs two scholarships of its own: the CCA Education Fund Scholarship (12 awards of $2,000) and the Women in Construction Scholarship (3 awards of $2,000 per academic year). Its Education Fund gives out over $80,000 in scholarships and bursaries a year. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you work for a CCA member company, or you are the dependant of a CCA member, and you are studying a trade or technical program. The Women in Construction Scholarship is for women who work part-time (at least 15 hours a week) for a member company, full-time employees on leave to study, or the children (under 25) and spouses of employees, managers or owners of a member company. The 2026 deadline was April 15 and 2026 applications are now closed. The scholarships are offered every year — check the CCA scholarships page or call the CCA office (403-291-3350) for the next intake. Selection criteria aren't published — ask Calgary Construction Association how winners are chosen and roughly how many applicants they typically receive so you can judge your odds. Ask Calgary Construction Association during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with Calgary Construction Association whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.

Who qualifies

You can apply for the CCA Education Fund Scholarship if you are an employee of a CCA member company or a dependant of a CCA member, and you are pursuing a trade or technical post-secondary education. The Women in Construction Scholarship is open to women pursuing advanced education in a construction-related field who are: a part-time employee (at least 15 hours a week) of a CCA member company who is working when the scholarship is awarded; a full-time employee of a member firm on temporary leave to study full-time; or the child (under 25 when you apply) or spouse of an employee, manager or owner of a CCA member company.
