About this award

Each scholarship is $2,000 for one year (in 2026 the Bruce Aubin award was $3,000). These are grants, not loans, so you do not have to pay them back. Specifically, you can apply for the CAE (Canadian Academy of Engineering — the national body representing Canada's most distinguished engineers) Bruce Aubin SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers — a global association for mobility engineering) Aerospace Design Award, the CAE William G. Belfry Memorial SAE Scholarship, or one of the three Nation-building Scholarships focusing on Net-Zero / Climate Change, Northern Infrastructure, or Oceans. This is for you if you are a university student pursuing a career in engineering and want to show you have leadership skills and integrity. The 2026 deadline was April 15, 2026, and winners were told by the beginning of May 2026. The date for the next round is not posted yet. Applicants are judged on academic and leadership achievements, their answers on the application form (an essay for the Belfry award), and their plan to pursue a career in the scholarship's area. Ask the Canadian Academy of Engineering during your application how the money will reach you—some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Who qualifies

You must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident currently enrolled in an engineering degree program accredited by the CEAB (Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board), or a new program seeking CEAB accreditation. To qualify for the CAE William G. Belfry Memorial SAE Scholarship, you should plan a career in mobility engineering. For the CAE Bruce Aubin SAE Aerospace Design Award, you should have outstanding leadership skills shown in project teams or other initiatives working on aeronautics projects, and an interest in a career in the aerospace sector.
