Depending on your program, you can receive $1,500 or $2,000. There is one award of $1,500 available for certificate students and two awards of $2,000 available for second-year diploma students. As a bursary, this money is yours to keep — there is nothing to repay. This is for you if you identify as female and are pursuing technical training in a WITT (Women in Trades and Technology) program while demonstrating significant financial need. You must apply by October 31, 2026. When you apply, ask Saskatchewan Polytechnic how and when you'll hear back — whether it is by email, phone, or through the awards portal. Selection is based entirely on financial need, which carries a 100% weighting in the decision. Since you are automatically considered based on your General Application, ask Saskatchewan Polytechnic how they verify financial documents and how many students typically apply for these spots. Ask Saskatchewan Polytechnic during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with Saskatchewan Polytechnic whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.
To qualify, you must identify as female and be enrolled full-time at any Saskatchewan Polytechnic campus. For the $1,500 award, you must be in a WITT (Women in Trades and Technology) Certificate program, such as Agricultural Equipment Technician, Auto Body Technician, Automotive Service Technician, Carpentry, Computer Automated Systems Technician, Electrician, Fabricator – Welder, Geographic Information Science, Heavy Equipment and Truck and Transport Technician, Industrial Mechanic, Machinist, Parts Management Technician, Plumbing and Pipefitting, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, or Welding. For the $2,000 award, you must be in Year 2 of a WITT (Women in Trades and Technology) Diploma program, including Chemical Technology, Civil Engineering Technologies, Commercial Pilot, Computer Engineering Technology, Computer Systems Technology, Design and Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Engineering Design and Drafting Technology, Innovative Manufacturing, Interactive Design and Technology, Integrated Resource Management, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mining Engineering Technology, Power Engineering Technology, or Resource and Environmental Law. Selection is based 100% on financial need.
