About this award

You can receive $3,000 per year for four years, which is a maximum scholarship value over 4 years of $12,000. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a high-achieving student entering university for the first time with a near-perfect academic record. You must ensure Carleton University's Admissions Services receives your complete application and all required grades by June 15. Since this is for fall entry only, you will hear about your offer at the time of admission; however, you should ask Carleton University for the exact date and method they use to notify you. You are automatically considered for this award based on the grades submitted by your high school. Selection is based on your admission average, and Carleton University does not assess or reassess these offers based on your final high school grades. Ask Carleton University during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. To keep this award, you must maintain an annual GPA (Grade Point Average — the average of all your final grades) of 10.0, which is an A- standing.

Who qualifies

You qualify for this award if you are entering Carleton University for the first time from high school or CEGEP (Collège d'enseignement général et professionnel — the public post-secondary system in Quebec) and have no previous attendance at post-secondary educational institutions like colleges or universities. You must be enrolled in a 4-year honours undergraduate degree and have an admission average of 95-100%. This award is available for fall entry only.
