You can receive a $500.00 award. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are an apprentice technician working for one of the specific automotive or transport companies listed in the eligibility section. You must apply by June 15, 2027. When you apply, ask Saskatchewan Polytechnic how and when you'll hear back — whether it is by email, the portal, or phone. Winners are chosen based on Academic Achievement, which makes up 100% of the weighting. There is one award available for each of the four apprenticeship levels. Selection criteria aren't published beyond the grade weighting, so ask Saskatchewan Polytechnic how they compare applicants to choose the winner. Ask Saskatchewan Polytechnic during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with Saskatchewan Polytechnic whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.
To qualify, you must be enrolled in the Auto Body and Collision Technician or Truck and Transport Mechanic Apprenticeship program at the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Saskatoon Campus. You must not have received a Commercial Vehicle Repairers Association of Saskatchewan – SGI (Saskatchewan Government Insurance — the provincial crown corporation that provides auto insurance) Scholarship. You must be employed by one of these companies: A-Line Frame and Alignment Services Ltd., Canada West Truck Centre, Comet Autobody Ltd., Custom Truck Sales Inc., Ernie’s Trailer Service Inc., Five Star Truck Collision Centre Ltd., Fort Garry Industries Ltd., Cervus Equipment-Collision Center Ltd., Cervus Equipment Peterbilt, G.J. Bell International Trucks Ltd., Maxim Transportation Services Inc., Precision Autobody Repairs Ltd., Redhead Equipment, Sterling Truck & Trailer Sales Ltd., Warner Truck Industries Ltd., Winacott Spring Western Star Truck Centre, or Southern Semi Services Ltd.
