About this award

You can receive one of two undergraduate scholarships valued at $500.00 each. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are an active member of the campus community who balances strong grades with a commitment to student life. You do not apply for this scholarship: Memorial's page says the awards it lists need no application unless noted, and this one is given on the recommendation of MUNSU. The Senate Committee on Undergraduate Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards chooses the winners based on a recommendation from MUNSU (the Memorial University Newfoundland Students Union — the student-led government body). They look at your academic standing and how much you participate in student life; if two students have equal standing, the committee uses financial need as the deciding factor. Ask Memorial University how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow.
