About this award

You can receive a one-time $2,000 award. Seven are available, one in each engineering program except computer science. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a woman starting a full-time undergraduate engineering degree at the University of Ottawa. You must apply by March 31, 2027. When you apply, ask how and when you'll hear back — whether it is by email, a portal, or phone. Selection criteria aren't published — ask University of Ottawa how winners are chosen and roughly how many applicants they typically receive so you can judge your odds. Ask University of Ottawa during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. This award is not renewable.

Who qualifies

You must be a female student registered full time, and for the first time, in an undergraduate program in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Ottawa (computer science is excluded), with a minimum admission average of 80%.
