About this award

You get $5,500 per year. As a bursary, this money is yours to keep — there is nothing to repay. It is renewable, for up to $22,000 in total, and four of these bursaries are available. This award is for you if you have financial need, have overcome adversity and are starting your first year of a full-time undergraduate degree at the University of Ottawa. You must apply by March 31, 2027. When you apply, ask how and when you'll hear back — whether it is by email, a portal, or phone. Financial need is assessed by uOttawa's Financial Aid and Awards Service. Recipients must register as a mentee in a campus mentorship program and send a report on their mentorship activity after each academic year. Who qualifies

You must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or a person with protected or refugee status, admitted as a first-year full-time undergraduate student at the University of Ottawa. You must also have graduated within the last three years from a high school in the National Capital Region, Eastern Ontario (Pembroke to Cornwall to Hawkesbury), Northern Ontario or Gatineau/West Quebec.
