GERTRUDE LR SHERRIFF Scholarship

What you will need

• ✓ Completed General Application submitted through the Saskatchewan Polytechnic awards portal

About this award

You can receive a $2,000.00 scholarship. This is a grant, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a high-achieving student specializing in medical laboratory work at the Saskatoon campus. You must apply by October 31, 2026. When you apply, ask Saskatchewan Polytechnic how and when you'll hear back — whether it is by email, the portal, or phone. Winners are chosen based on academic achievement, which makes up 100% of the weighting. There are 4 awards available. Since you are automatically considered through the General Application, ask Saskatchewan Polytechnic how they rank students to determine the final four winners. Ask Saskatchewan Polytechnic during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with Saskatchewan Polytechnic whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.

Who qualifies

You must be enrolled full-time in the Medical Laboratory Assistant program at the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Saskatoon campus.

Tips for applying

• SupportAvoid waiting until the deadline to troubleshoot your login. Instead, contact the Saskatchewan Polytechnic awards office early if you have trouble accessing the portal. This ensures your application is submitted before October 31.
• StrategyAvoid treating the General Application as a formality. Instead, fill out every optional field in the General Application thoroughly. Since this is an automatic consideration process, the more data you provide, the easier it is for the system to match you to this and other awards.
• RealismAvoid assuming you will win just by being enrolled. Instead, remember that only 4 awards are available for the entire program at the Saskatoon campus. Apply for several different bursaries to increase your chances of getting funding.
