J. Armand Bombardier Bursary Program

About this award

Depending on your level of study, you can receive a one-time payment in the Fall: $3,000 for a university undergraduate program, $1,500 for the college level, or $1,000 for the vocational level. As a bursary, this money is yours to keep and you do not have to pay it back. If you are only eligible for a Winter bursary, you may be awarded a half-bursary. There are limits on how long you can receive this support: a maximum of 10 sessions for university undergraduates, 8 sessions for college students, and 4 sessions for those at the vocational level. This is for you if you are a full-time student living in a specific part of Quebec who needs financial support for your recognized program of study. You apply through the Foundation's digital platform during its registration period, which in 2026 ran from June 1 to July 12. Applicants who pass the first check are then invited to upload supporting documents (the 2026 cut-off was midnight on September 14). When you apply, ask the J. Armand Bombardier Foundation how and when you will be notified of the decision. A selection committee chooses the winners based on your financial situation (including your income and the income of your spouse or parents), the distance between your home and your school, and your full-time student status. Selection criteria aren't published in detail, so ask the J. Armand Bombardier Foundation how many applicants they typically receive so you can judge your odds. The bursary is payable in one instalment upon your acceptance in the Fall. Ask the J. Who qualifies

You must be a full-time student at a recognized institution. You must reside in the Val-Saint-François and Acton MRCs (Municipalités Régionales de Comté — regional county municipalities), or in the municipalities of Saint-Joachim-de-Shefford, Shefford, Warden, or Waterloo. This award is open to all fields of study for those pursuing a DEP (Diploma of Vocational Studies), ASP (Attestation of Vocational Specialization), AEC (Attestation of College Studies), DEC (Diploma of College Studies), or a Bachelor's degree. Students in 1st cycle PhD programs, such as medicine or dentistry, are also eligible. Programs that overlap two levels, like a DEC-BAC (combined college and bachelor's), are eligible. However, Master's and doctoral students in graduate programs are not eligible, unless they are in the 1st cycle PhD programs mentioned above.
