What you will need

• ✓ Completed General Application via Saskatchewan Polytechnic's awards portal

About this award

You can receive a $1,000.00 grant. As a grant, this money is yours to keep and you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are starting your career in the trades as a Construction Electrician apprentice. You must apply by June 15, 2027. When you apply, ask Saskatchewan Polytechnic how and when you'll hear back — whether it is by email, the portal, or phone. Selection is based on a 50% weighting of your academic marks from Level 1 and a 50% weighting of your financial need. There is only 1 award available, so ask Saskatchewan Polytechnic how they choose the winner among all applicants to judge your odds. Ask Saskatchewan Polytechnic during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with Saskatchewan Polytechnic whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.

Who qualifies

You must be enrolled in the Construction Electrician Apprenticeship program, Level 1 at any Saskatchewan Polytechnic campus.

Tips for applying

• Financial NeedAvoid providing vague statements about your costs. Instead, list your specific monthly expenses and income gaps. Provide a clear breakdown of why this $1,000 would change your situation.
• StrategyAvoid leaving your General Application incomplete. Since you are automatically considered based on that form, ensure every section regarding financial need and academic history is fully detailed.
• RealismAvoid assuming this is a guaranteed fund. Because there is only 1 award available, you should continue looking for other trade-specific grants to secure your funding.
