About this award

You can receive a total of $12,000, which is paid as $3,000 per year. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (BA) major or honours degree in French, or a BA major or honours degree in modern languages, literatures, & culture in French. You must submit your application for admission and scholarships by March 1. Note that this award is not available for students starting their studies in January. When you apply, ask Mount Allison University how and when you will hear back about your result. Five of these awards are offered. Selection criteria aren't published — ask Mount Allison University how winners are chosen and roughly how many applicants they typically receive so you can judge your odds. Ask Mount Allison University during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. To keep this award, you must achieve a 3.7 GPA (Grade Point Average — a measure of your average grades) with a course load of 30 course credits between the fall and winter terms combined. Confirm with Mount Allison University if there are any other requirements to maintain your funding.
