About this award

You receive the full tuition amount for your first year of study. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you have a strong academic record and have shown leadership through extracurricular activities and community service. You must submit your application by March 1. If you are starting your studies in January, you cannot apply for this award. When you apply, ask Mount Allison University how and when you will hear back — whether by email, phone, or through the portal. Selection criteria aren't published — ask Mount Allison University how winners are chosen and roughly how many applicants they typically receive so you can judge your odds. Only 1 award is offered. Ask Mount Allison University during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. This award is only available for your first year of study. To potentially receive a scholarship after your first year, you must achieve a 3.7 GPA (Grade Point Average — a measure of your average grades) with a course load of 30 course credits between the fall and winter terms.

Who qualifies

You must have a strong academic record and demonstrated leadership in community service and extracurricular activities. This award is for students starting their first year of study, but it is not available for students starting in January.

How to apply

  1. Read the award's official page

Check you meet every requirement, and note each document they ask for.

  2. Order your transcript1–2 weeks

Your school's registrar can take a week or two.

  3. Submit your application

Save a copy, and submit at least a day before the deadline shown above.

Tips for applying

  • Community LeadershipAvoid just listing the organizations where you volunteered. Instead, describe one specific project where your leadership made a difference. Mention the exact result of your effort.
  • SupportAvoid sending documents the award does not ask for. The official page lists no additional support documents, so make sure your application itself shows your strong academic record and your leadership in community service and extracurricular activities.
  • StrategyAvoid waiting until the last minute to apply for admission. Since you apply for this scholarship at the same time as you apply for admission, ensure both are submitted by March 1.
  • RealismAvoid assuming grades alone will win this award. Because only 1 award is offered, focus heavily on proving your leadership outside the classroom to stand out.
