About this award

You can receive a total of $20,000, which is paid out as $5,000 per year. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you were a finalist for the Marjorie Young Bell Scholarship but were not selected as the winner. You must submit your application by March 1. If you are planning to start your studies in January, please note that this award is not available to you. When you apply, ask Mount Allison University how and when you will hear back — whether by email, phone, or through the application portal. It is offered to every Marjorie Young Bell Scholarship finalist who is not selected; the number offered varies. Ask Mount Allison University during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. To keep this award, you must achieve a 3.7 GPA with a course load of 30 course credits between the fall and winter terms combined. Confirm with Mount Allison University if there are any other renewal conditions you need to meet.
