Get $5,000 for your teacher education path — apply by mid-February.

You get $5,000 as a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is a one-time award to help you start your studies. This is for you if you are pursuing a career in teaching and want to enter a teacher education program. You must apply by mid-February. If you win, you will be notified in the fall after you graduate, primarily through your StudentTranscripts Service (STS — the secure online portal for your official academic records) account. Selection criteria aren't published — ask BC Ministry of Education and Child Care how winners are chosen and roughly how many applicants they typically receive so you can judge your odds. The money is sent as a cheque in the mail, but only after you prove you have started school. You must pay your tuition, get your voucher stamped and signed by your school to prove you are enrolled, and then redeem that voucher with the Ministry. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with BC Ministry of Education and Child Care whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.
