About this award

You can receive a $1,000.00 grant, which is not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. There are 4 versions of this award available, with one award of $1,000.00 available for each specific program level and trade combination. This is for you if you are a dedicated trades apprentice in the plumbing or sheet metal fields who is maintaining high academic marks while working with an MCAS (Mechanical Contractors Association of Saskatchewan — the professional body for mechanical contracting firms) member company. You must apply by June 15, 2027. No notification timeline is posted publicly — before you start the application, check Saskatchewan Polytechnic's program page or call their office to confirm when you will hear back about your application. Winners are chosen based on academic achievement, with a 100% weighting placed on your final mark in your respective level. Selection criteria aren't published beyond this grade requirement — ask Saskatchewan Polytechnic how they handle ties if multiple students have the same final mark. Ask Saskatchewan Polytechnic during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with Saskatchewan Polytechnic whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.

• RealismAvoid assuming this is a guaranteed grant since there is only 1 award available for each of the 4 versions. Instead, treat this as a competitive academic prize. Focus on presenting your best possible final mark to increase your odds.
