About this award

You can receive a $1,500.00 award. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a technician student at Saskatchewan Polytechnic who has been personally affected by impaired driving or is living with a registered disability. You must apply by October 31, 2026. When you apply, ask Saskatchewan Polytechnic how and when you will hear back — whether it is through email, the portal, or by phone. Selection is based on a 50% weighting for your academic achievement and a 50% weighting for your financial need. There is one award available for each of the two program versions. Ask Saskatchewan Polytechnic how they review these applications so you can judge your odds. Ask Saskatchewan Polytechnic during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with Saskatchewan Polytechnic whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.

Who qualifies

To qualify, you must meet the requirements for one of these two versions: Version 1: You must be enrolled full-time in the Auto Body Technician program at the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Regina campus. Version 2: You must be enrolled full-time in the Automotive Services Technician program at the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Moose Jaw campus. For both versions, a preference is given to students who have been directly impacted by impaired driving and to students with a registered disability.

This is what the award's official page said when we last checked. Rules change, so confirm on the award's official page before you apply.
