You can receive a $5,000.00 award. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are an extended family member of someone in the Saskatchewan Retirees Association and you are pursuing your education at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. You must apply by October 31, 2026. When you apply, ask how and when you'll hear back — email, portal, or phone. Three awards are available per academic year. Selection is based entirely on academic achievement (100% weighting), but selection criteria aren't published — ask Saskatchewan Polytechnic how winners are chosen and roughly how many applicants they typically receive so you can judge your odds. Ask Saskatchewan Polytechnic during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with Saskatchewan Polytechnic whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.
You must be enrolled full-time in any year of any program at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. You can only be selected if you are an extended family member of a Saskatchewan Retirees Association member. A preference will be given to you if you are in either the School of Health Sciences or the School of Nursing. Note that you must be enrolled through Saskatchewan Polytechnic and cannot be enrolled in a program through the U of R (University of Regina).
This is what the award's official page said when we last checked. Rules change, so confirm on the award's official page before you apply.
