About this award

You can receive one of four $1,500 scholarships. This is a grant, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a student living with epilepsy who has shown resilience and a commitment to your education and community. Applications for the 2026 scholarship are closed. This is an annual scholarship, so check Epilepsy Ontario's scholarship page for when the next round opens. The scholarships recognize academic commitment, community involvement, leadership and advocacy, and personal resilience and perseverance. Ask Epilepsy Ontario during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. You can only win this once: if you have already received an Epilepsy Ontario Scholarship, you can't apply again.

Who qualifies

To qualify, you must be a person living with epilepsy and a resident of Ontario. You must also be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident, or a Protected Person (someone who has refugee or protected-person status in Canada). You must be enrolled in, or accepted to, a full-time or part-time post-secondary program, such as college, university, accredited professional training, or apprenticeship programs. If you are a part-time student, you must complete at least one course per semester. You cannot apply if you are related to any member of the Epilepsy Ontario Board of Directors or staff, or if you have previously received an Epilepsy Ontario Scholarship.

• RealismAvoid assuming this will cover all your costs. Instead, treat this $1,500 as a supplement to other grants or loans. Plan your budget based on the specific award amount.
