About this award

You can receive a $1,000 award for your studies. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a carpentry apprentice who has maintained a high academic standard in your coursework. You must apply by June 7, 2027. When you apply, ask NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) how and when you'll hear back — whether it is by email, phone, or through the portal. Winners are chosen based on excellent academic achievement in the program. Ask NAIT how many students usually apply, so you can judge your odds. Ask NAIT during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with NAIT whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.

Who qualifies

You must be enrolled in the second, third or fourth period of the Carpenter Apprenticeship Program. To be considered, you must show excellent academic achievement in the program. You will only be considered during the period you were enrolled as a student.
