About this award

You can receive a $1,250 grant for your education. As a grant, this money is yours to keep and you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are living with a prolonged or persistent disability and want to share your personal journey to post-secondary education. You must apply by February 12, 2027. When you apply, ask NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) how and when you'll hear back — whether it is by email, phone, or through the portal. Selection is based on a written statement about your personal journey, and preference will be given to students who demonstrate financial need. Selection criteria aren't published otherwise — ask NAIT how winners are chosen and roughly how many applicants they typically receive so you can judge your odds. Ask NAIT during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with NAIT whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.

Who qualifies

You must be enrolled in any diploma or degree program and have a prolonged or persistent disability. A preference will be given to students who demonstrate financial need.
