About this award

For college students, these awards are valued at a minimum of $2,000.00. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a person of Indigenous ancestry who lives in Manitoba and needs financial help to afford your education. You must apply by May 31st. When you apply, ask the Business Council of Manitoba how and when you will hear back — whether by email, phone, or a portal. Selection criteria aren't published — ask the Business Council of Manitoba how winners are chosen and roughly how many applicants they typically receive so you can judge your odds. Ask the Business Council of Manitoba during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. You are eligible to reapply each year of your studies. Since renewal conditions aren't listed, confirm with the Business Council of Manitoba what you need to maintain to keep receiving this funding.

Who qualifies

You must be a person of Indigenous ancestry, a Canadian citizen, and a resident of Manitoba. You must be presently enrolled or planning to enroll in any program at a Manitoba public post-secondary institution. To qualify, you must be in need of financial assistance and maintain full-time status, which is defined as a 60% or more course load.
