About this award

You can receive up to $2,520 per year until the end of the 2026 to 2027 school year. This is a grant, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. The amount you get will not exceed your assessed financial need; for example, if your need is calculated at $1,200, you will receive $1,200. This is for you if you are balancing your studies with other responsibilities and are taking a part-time course load while facing financial challenges. You are automatically assessed for this grant when you apply for student aid through your province or territory. Who qualifies

Your total family income must be below the following thresholds (effective August 1, 2026): - Family size 1: Maximum grant if income is below $38,474; cut-off at $69,987 - Family size 2: Maximum grant if income is below $54,412; cut-off at $98,017 - Family size 3: Maximum grant if income is below $66,641; cut-off at $117,317 - Family size 4: Maximum grant if income is below $76,952; cut-off at $129,769 - Family size 5: Maximum grant if income is below $86,033; cut-off at $141,180 - Family size 6: Maximum grant if income is below $94,245; cut-off at $151,937 - Family size 7 and more: Maximum grant if income is below $101,797; cut-off at $161,321
