About this award

You can receive $2,800 per year until the end of the 2026 to 2027 school year. This is a grant, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. You can get this amount for each year of your studies as long as you still qualify, and the school year is defined as running from August 1 to July 31. This is for you if you are a student living with a disability and have a demonstrated financial need while attending a designated school. No specific application deadline is posted publicly—before you start the application, check with your province's or territory's student aid office to confirm when applications open and close this year. You generally apply for this grant at the same time you apply for student aid with your province or territory. You apply through your province's or territory's student aid program, which assesses whether you qualify. Ask your province's or territory's student aid office how and when the grant is paid.
