About this award

You can receive up to $2,688 per year until the end of the 2026 to 2027 school year. This is a grant, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. The amount you get will not exceed your assessed financial need; for example, if your need is calculated at $1,920, you will receive $1,920. This is for you if you are a parent or guardian supporting children while attending school part-time and need extra financial help to cover your costs. No specific application deadline is posted publicly—before you start, check the Government of Canada's program page or call your provincial student aid office to confirm when applications open and close for the current cycle. You are automatically assessed for this grant when you apply for student aid with your province or territory. Who qualifies

Your total family income must be below the following thresholds (effective August 1, 2026): - Family size 2: Maximum grant if income is below $54,412; no grant if at or above $98,017 - Family size 3: Maximum grant if income is below $66,641; no grant if at or above $117,317 - Family size 4: Maximum grant if income is below $76,952; no grant if at or above $129,769 - Family size 5: Maximum grant if income is below $86,033; no grant if at or above $141,180 - Family size 6: Maximum grant if income is below $94,245; no grant if at or above $151,937 - Family size 7 and more: Maximum grant if income is below $101,797; no grant if at or above $161,321
