You can receive a $2,500.00 grant for your studies. As a grant, this money is yours to keep and you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you come from a historically marginalized and excluded community and are pursuing a trade in the building industry. You must apply by June 7, 2027. When you apply, ask NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) how and when you will hear back — whether it is through email, the portal, or a phone call. Selection is based on a written statement about your personal journey to post-secondary and your academic standing. Ask NAIT how many students usually apply, so you can judge your odds. Ask NAIT during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with NAIT whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.
You must be enrolled in the Carpenter, Electrician, or Plumber Apprenticeship programs at NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology). This award is for students from historically marginalized and excluded communities who have maintained satisfactory academic standing. You will only be considered for the specific intake that you attend NAIT.
