About this award

You can receive a $1,000.00 bursary. As a bursary, this money is yours to keep — there is nothing to repay. This is for you if you identify as a woman and are pursuing a career in the trades through an apprenticeship. You must apply by June 7, 2027. When you apply, ask NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) how and when you'll hear back — whether it is by email, phone, or through the portal. NAIT's official page says how this award is decided (see Who qualifies). Ask NAIT how many students usually qualify, so you can judge your odds. Ask NAIT during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with NAIT whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.

Who qualifies

You must be a women-identifying student enrolled in any apprenticeship trade program at NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology). To qualify, you need to show demonstrated financial need and have satisfactory academic achievement in your program. Note that you will only be eligible for awards offered during the specific intake in which you are registered for training.

  • StrategyAvoid waiting until the last minute to fill out the General Application. Instead, complete your profile in the NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) awards portal early. Since you are automatically considered based on that form, ensure every section is fully detailed.
  • RealismAvoid assuming this is a guaranteed payment. Instead, remember that this is based on financial need and grades. Apply for several different bursaries at the same time to increase your chances of getting funding.
