About this award

This bursary provides a contribution up to the cost of tuition in an undergraduate degree program. As a bursary, this money is yours to keep and you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are an Indigenous student beginning an undergraduate degree program at the University of New Brunswick and can show you have financial need. Deadlines come around three times a year on August 1, November 1 and February 1, so aim for whichever one is next. Please contact Indspire (the organization that administers this award) to confirm the exact time zones and how you will be notified of the decision. Selection criteria aren't published — ask Indspire how winners are chosen and roughly how many applicants they typically receive so you can judge your odds. Ask Indspire during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. To keep this support for a maximum of four years, you must reapply and meet specific grades. First-year students need an average of 75%, while those receiving renewable support need a minimum 2.0 GPA (Grade Point Average — a number that summarizes your overall academic achievement) or a 75% average.
