You can receive between $5,000 and $35,000 in total, with a maximum of $10,000 per year. As a bursary, this money is yours to keep — there is nothing to repay. This is for you if you are starting an undergraduate degree at the University of Ottawa, your family's income is $60,000 or less, and you want to go on to the University of Ottawa's MD program. You must apply by March 31, 2027. When you apply, ask University of Ottawa how and when you'll hear back — whether it is by email, a portal, or phone. Four of these bursaries are available. Ask University of Ottawa during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. It can be renewed for three years after your first year if you stay registered full time in a direct-entry faculty and keep a cumulative GPA of 8.5 or higher. With a CGPA between 8.0 and 8.49, it is renewed at half its value.

Your family's total pre-tax household income while you were in Grade 11 and 12 must have been $60,000 or less, as per Canada Revenue Agency data.
